We were invited to meet the England Kicking Cancer team as they trained and competed against the England Over 60s in Solihull over the weekend. Take a look through our galleries for photos of this amazing event.
The WFA England Kicking Cancer team started the day by receiving their medals for the World Nations Cup, having competed in this Spanish based tournament during November last year. Julia Tibbs - the founder of the team - led the ceremony presenting the inspiring women with their medals. There were hugs, smiles and some emotional reflection on what the team means to every player.
The teams then went on to take part in training drills together. This was led by members of the WFA England Over 60's coaching staff including Paul Wheatley, Heather Kirkland and Georjean Jones plus the Kicking Cancer's very own coach Lalla Banks.
Following the drills, the teams competed in several games, with some great skill and teamwork on show. Here are some pics of the action.
We look forward to meeting up with the teams again and also sharing some individual player stories soon.
