My name is Sarah, aka Brecks, in the walking football world!

I hadn’t played football until I found walking football and that came about through my Dad who had played football all his life. When my mum died 10 years ago Dad found walking football, which gave him not only football but a whole new community and a reason to live. This was the first I had heard of walking football.

Nearly 4 years ago I helped set up Taunton and District Women’s Walking Football Club… The Tads!!

And I’ve not looked back. I’ve always loved sport - playing hockey in my school and college days, then finding squash and anything else ball related when I could get the time from my busy working life!

I enjoy watching all sports, especially Liverpool, and I’ve had the honour of actually playing on the sacred Anfield ground - one of my best days ever!!!!

Walking Football gives me not only football but a huge football family

Walking football is so much more than football not only does it have a vast amount of health benefits physically and mentally, I’ve found some amazing friends, have watched beginners who couldn’t kick a ball grow in confidence and play.. and have seen some quality women ballers now having their best life doing what they should have been allowed to do years ago.
